About QR-Adresse
QR-Adresse is a free checker for Swiss QR-bills. It shows whether the QR code still uses the old combined address format (type K), which can get payments refused after the autumn 2026 deadlines, and flags other errors against SIX's Implementation Guidelines.
An independent project by Vincent Etter. It is not affiliated with SIX, any bank or any software vendor, and it is deliberately temporary: it will be shut down after the 2026 deadlines.
How the check works
The bill is processed entirely in your browser. A PDF is drawn as an image with the pdf.js library, the QR code is read with ZXing (fallback: jsQR), and its content is checked line by line against the rules of the Swiss Payment Standards. The file is never sent to a server. The page's security policy only allows connections to its own address; you can verify this yourself in your browser's developer tools (Network tab).
Privacy
- Invoice data: never transmitted or stored.
- Statistics: we count visits with Umami, self-hosted on a server in Switzerland (Infomaniak). Umami sets no cookies and does not store IP addresses. It records the page viewed, the referring page, country, language, browser and device type.
- Events: we also count, anonymously, how the checker is used: a check started (by PDF, image or pasted text), the result (all good, old format, errors), clicks on the examples, opened questions, "Did this check help?", sharing the link and clicks on sources. Never the content of the bill.
- Server: the web server keeps no access logs.
- No third parties: no ads, no third-party tracking, no external fonts or scripts.
No support, no advice
The check does not replace approval by your bank or professional advice. For a question about a specific payment, contact your bank; for your invoicing software, its vendor. Feedback on the checker is welcome through the "Did this check help?" buttons after a check.
